Flying Solo – Miles is an inspired individual. Worth taking a peek at some of the excellent websites he has designed for his clients. His strategic awareness, technical savvy and highly creative thinking put him, in my view, way above the rest. And he’s got a cracking sense of humour too.

BlackAd – if you need a copy writer, here’s where to look. Blackad write website copy, also copy for brochures, sales promotions, ads and direct mail. They also run very good web copywriting courses.

Twobobrocket - is Paul Hampton: a talented photographer with a first rate portfolio of creative and commercial work and the guy who took the pic for this website. A great selection of images can be found on his own site – I particularly like the SCO (Scottish Chamber Orchestra project), have a look…

A couple of useful sites if you’re involved in an artistic/ creative project:

Creative Entrepreneurs Club – Based in The Lighthouse in Glasgow, SEC is essentially a network organisation for the creative industries in Scotland. Worth keeping an eye on their events calendar.

NESTA – (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) is a good site for anyone looking to fund or find partners for creative ideas.

The Scottish Arts Council site gives a good overview of the main sources of funding for the arts in Scotland.

A & B – An organisation linking arts with the business world offering training, mentoring and other useful stuff.

Scot Exchange – the main trade site for the tourism industry in Scotland – handy if you want to get some background info or market stats for your sector.

Louisa Macdonell - a photographer and friend, has been producing excellent images for over a decade. Based on Fleet Street for eight years she has covered world events such as the G8, Champions League Football, and US military action in the Gulf. Now Edinburgh-based, she combines high profile news and corporate clients with an ever-expanding creative portfolio.
