Wycombe Centre of Creativity
principal involvement : Feasibility Study and Business Planning
Business plan to assess the viability of developing a community-run arts centre in a converted church.
The plan produced by Iridescence provided a strategic framework and viable business model for the development of Wycombe’s proposed new Centre of Creativity following the renovation of St John’s Church and Hall in High Wycombe for this purpose. Thorough market and demand analysis underpinned strategic recommendations and provided the evidence required by Wycombe District Council to transfer this £11m asset to the community.
project objectives :
- Develop 5-year business plan
- Explore fundraising potential
- Benchmark similar creative initiatives
- Provide indicative programming for the centre
- Consult with local community and businesses
Wycombe District Council commissioned Finella Devitt in 2009 to write an independent business plan for local community group Arts4every1. Finella was thorough and professional throughout the process, and met all the deadlines. She worked well with the community, stakeholders and the Council, and we were very happy with the quality of the final business plan. This was used to inform the Council’s decision to acquire the former St John’s Church and Hall in High Wycombe which last year opened to the public as Arts4every1 Centre for Arts, Creativity and Enterprise.
